Each workshop is based on different pedagogy (methodology) are vertically integrated to develop capacity and build eco-system to deepen the impact and widen the spread of Blind With Camera
Photographers, artists, film makers, designers, architects, art curators, cultural professionals and art management practitioners. Enthusiast, students and professionals may join.
Training is based on proven pedagogy. You are trained in the methodology and techniques to teach photography to the visually impaired, how to design, setup “inclusive” photo exhibitions. You would also undergo blindfold photo sessions to take pictures based on touch, sound, smell, warmth of light and imagination. Leadership and project management skills are enhanced.
Participants have visually impairment from born, complete, late blind to partially sighted. During the workshop they understand functions of camera, how to take pictures of objects, people, buildings, food, places they visit and learn to tell stories on the making. Workshops involves both indoor and outdoor shooting.
In February 2006, first photo workshop was conducted at the Victoria Memorial School for Blind, Mumbai (India). Since then conducted photo workshops with the visually impaired in collaboration with schools and organizations for the blind in India and abroad.
At Blindfold Multi-Sensory Photography workshops, sighted participants are blindfold and given challenges to take pictures using touch, sound, smell, warmth of light and intuitions. Visually impaired photographers as trainers at workshops play a reveal of role and provides income opportunity to them. The workshop put Jack Mezirow’s Transformative Learning Theory into practice as "edutaining" experience - learning enjoyable and fun.
Blindfold Multi-Sensory Photography workshops can be customized and integrated with leadership, team building or human development programs conducted at organizations. Since 2010, Blindfold Multi-Sensory Photography workshops is conducted at educational institutes including business schools, corporate, conferences and events in India and abroad.
In uncertain COVID-19 era, e-blindfold multi-sensory photography workshop is conducted with sighted participants staying at home and limited outdoor activities. Workshops offers a whole new experience, buster stress by engaging senses, mind, heart and creative skills to open new perceptive and bring closer to life.
